沖吸式抽沙船工作原理是利用高壓水泵產(chǎn)生壓力水，通過高壓水槍沖擊泥沙，經(jīng)過水的濕化崩解流動(dòng)作用，將沉積的泥沙形成泥漿。然后將泥沙通過抽沙泵及管道輸送至作業(yè)區(qū)。廣泛應(yīng)用于江河湖海、水庫抽沙采沙，吹填施工，抽沙清淤，港口河道疏浚等。在黃河機(jī)淤固堤、港口清淤及沿海圍海造地、抽沙吹填工程中都發(fā)揮了重要作用。
沖吸式抽沙船的組成：
1.抽沙泵為主的抽沙組件：包括了抽沙泵，抽沙泵動(dòng)力（柴油機(jī)或電機(jī)），高壓水泵，高壓水泵動(dòng)力，配套的支架，水龍頭，如果是柴油機(jī)，還有輔助的油箱室。
2.船體固定和移動(dòng)為主的輔助裝置：以卷揚(yáng)機(jī)配合船錨實(shí)現(xiàn)船體的固定，船體移動(dòng)可以是移動(dòng)卷揚(yáng)機(jī)，有的時(shí)候也使用螺旋槳移動(dòng)。
3.管線系統(tǒng)：包括吸沙管、輸沙管、管線漂浮裝置（浮板或浮筒）等。
4.其他的輔助組件：包括一些供工人休息的休息室或者是放置抽砂設(shè)備的艙室。
